Our whole mood can be affected if we have a messy bedroom. It is important to regularly declutter your bedroom so that you have a calm and relaxing space. In turn, this will help you feel more balanced and happy.
Here are some tips and tricks to help you organize and declutter your bedroom.
Get rid of your trash
This one might seem obvious, but you can really make a difference in the feel of your room by doing this one thing. Go through your room with a trash bag and trow away all random papers things you have laying around.
It’s also important to have a small trash can in your room so that you can throw that chocolate wrapper away immediately after you’ve finished it.
Remove things that don’t belong in your bedroom
If you have lots of empty coffee mugs around your room take them back to the kitchen where they belong. Perhaps you have been watching DVD’s in bed and now they have found a home on your bedside table or on the floor. All of these little things can accumulate and then before you know it your room is a cluttered mess.
Use bowls and trays to store small things
Use bowls to house all of your small items like earrings, rings, watches, hair-ties etc. This keeps the items from getting lost and looks a lot more organized.
Go through your closet
A closet can be one of the messiest places in a bedroom since we never want to get rid of clothes. Make piles of clothing you can donate or throw away if they are beyond saving. If you haven’t worn a specific item of clothing for some time, hang it at the end of your closet and give yourself a month or two to see if you will actually reach for it. If you don’t, get rid of it. You can then move on to the dresser when you are a done with the closet.
Separate the items in your dresser drawers
To keep your dresser from being too chaotic, separate the items from each other by using compartments. Having a designated space to put all your items will keep the dresser more organized and free of clutter.

Get a clothing hamper
Instead of throwing your dirty clothes on your bedroom floor or piling it onto a chair or on one side of your bed, get a clothing hamper. A hamper than can close is even better since you won’t be able to see clothes sticking out. Choose one that goes along with the color scheme and decor in your room.
Keep furniture to a minimum
You really don’t need a lot of furniture in your bedroom. The less furniture, the clearer the space. In order to minimize the furniture in the room, use pieces that have multiple uses. For example, instead of having a nightstand and a dresser, use a dresser that doubles as a nightstand. If you have an office space in your bedroom consider moving it elsewhere. This will help your bedroom feel less chaotic and more peaceful.
Your bedroom is sacred space meant for relaxation. Having a messy and cluttered room can be distracting and disrupts your space. Always try to declutter your bedroom at least once a month to keep your space feeling homey and relaxing.

Thanks for sharing! Drawer dividers are so helpful. They help you see everything that you have and decide how much of certain things to have.
